Job summary

University of Southern California Libraries seeks an experienced leader to serve as Director of the ONE Archives. This role provides strategic and operational leadership over archival collections, art holdings, and public programs, guiding staff across archival, curatorial, and education initiatives.

The Director will support fundraising, grants, partnerships, and community engagement, while serving as a public representative and advancing access, representation, and teaching within USC.

Qualifications

• MLS or equivalent leadership experience in libraries/archives/higher education.
• 3+ years of progressive leadership in academic environments.
• Experience in fundraising, donor engagement, and grant writing.

Responsibilities

• Lead operations and collections of the world’s largest LGBTQ+ archives and its art holdings.
• Oversee day-to-day administration, budget, and personnel management.
• Supervise archivists, librarians, curatorial and support staff.
• Oversee research activities, reading room, and exhibition development/production.
• Collaborate with Advancement on fundraising and donor relations.
• Guide public communications and social media for ONE Archives.
