Role Overview: As part of the upcoming collaboration between Dana‑Farber Cancer Institute and Beth Israel Lahey Health, we are seeking an academic Emergency Medicine physician with expertise or strong research interest in oncologic emergencies and cancer‑related acute care to lead this strategic research initiative. This role sits within a system‑wide commitment to advancing cancer care and provides a unique opportunity to build a nationally recognized research program in oncologic emergencies, supported by strong institutional alignment, multidisciplinary collaboration, and expanded opportunities for epidemiologic, clinical and translational investigation. The Director will develop a research program focused on studying cancer patients presenting to the Emergency Department with acute illness, including complications of malignancy, immunotherapy‑related toxicities, and treatment‑related adverse events. The position is designed for an individual who aims to build a nationally recognized research portfolio in oncologic emergency care, with opportunities to develop clinical pathways, lead multidisciplinary collaborations, and secure extramural funding to support high‑impact investigation. BIDMC and Harvard Medical School provide a rich research environment with robust infrastructure, including dedicated clinical research staff, statistical and database support. Strong collaborations with oncology, critical care, and translational science programs provide a unique platform to advance this emerging field. Base pay range: $210,000 – $400,000. Compensation may be modified based on academic appointment, work experience, specialty training, geography, anticipated productivity, FTE basis, and role expectations. Additional performance‑based incentives may be available.
