Job Description

Step into a meaningful ministry opportunity in the heart of Memphis, a city alive with culture, music, and history. Idlewild Presbyterian Church is a progressive, thriving, and socially engaged faith community, deeply committed to spiritual growth, social justice, and intergenerational relationships.

We are seeking a Director of Youth Ministry to create a welcoming and inclusive space of belonging for middle and high school students and their families. This is an exciting opportunity to help shape a thriving youth ministry that fosters spiritual growth, leadership, and deep connections.

Idlewild has a strong foundation in youth, with rich traditions like Youth Sunday, confirmation, and mission experiences. With a long history of community outreach, Idlewild is deeply engaged in making a tangible difference in Memphis.

The ideal candidate for this full time role will be a reliable, strong communicator who keeps parents, students, and the congregation informed and engaged. Building meaningful relationships with youth, parents, and volunteers is key, as is the ability to develop a strategic, year-round volunteer recruitment plan. A big-picture thinker who empowers volunteers through consistent training and support will thrive in this role. If you’re ready to lead, grow, and make an impact, we’d love to hear from you!
