A vibrant church in Carrollton, Georgia is looking for a full-time Director of Youth Ministries to foster youth discipleship within a supportive faith community. The candidate will implement innovative ministries and engage with youth and families, strengthening their faith journey through diverse activities and outreach programs.
Carrollton First United Methodist Church, Georgia is seeking a full-time Director of Youth Ministries (DYM) with a vibrant and authentic Christian faith and a call for ministry to families and making youth disciples of Jesus Christ. Every week of the school year over 75 unique youth members (6 th -12 th grades) participate in Sunday School, Sunday evening worship, Bible studies, discipleship groups and fellowship activities. More than 40 adult volunteers and a Parent and Youth Council provide leadership in a state of the art youth center that was completely renovated in 2014. Youth grow in faith and discipleship through a developmental mission strategy that includes local and regional mission activities and trips, culminating in a junior year spring break international mission trip.
Carrollton First UMC is a leader in a vibrant downtown faith community. With four Sunday morning worship services, including a Spanish-language service, our youth are part of a congregation that engages them in a vital personal faith that is lived out in community and ministry with our neighbors. Carrollton is home to The University of West Georgia, one of the fastest growing units of The University System of Georgia. With excellent city and county school systems, Tanner Health Systems, Southwire and other leading industries, Carrollton and Carroll County provide small-town and rural life within an hour’s drive of Atlanta.
The ideal candidate possesses a bachelor’s degree, at least three year’s full-time ministry experience, a collaborative work style, knowledge of and commitment to United Methodist theology and practice, great organizational and relational skills, and the ability to recruit, train and empower parents and volunteers for relational and discipleship ministry. Salary is based on experience and education. We are willing to pay above normal range for our size church and youth group for the right-fitting candidate.
