This position is responsible for directing the spiritual growth and faith-based education programs for youth and families at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church and School (HTLC/S). The incumbent provides vision and leadership for the ministry of children and families, including Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, Confirmation, Chapel, worship services, youth events, and service projects. The position works closely with the Pastoral Staff, leadership teams, congregational members, and volunteers to develop a growing youth and family ministry.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
YOUTH & FAMILY MINISTRY:
- Develop and lead a youth and family ministry encouraging spiritual growth, discipleship, and service.
- Design and administer a comprehensive faith-based educational program for children and their families.
- Establish goals, develop a budget, and evaluate progress of youth and family ministry programs.
- Build relationships with children and families to grow their faith in Jesus Christ.
- Recruit, train, and mentor youth leaders and volunteers.
- Guide newly confirmed and high school youth into active congregational life.
- Work with HTLC/S committees, leadership boards, and members to support youth programs.
FAITH FORMATION:
- Provide spiritual guidance for children, their families, and volunteers involved in youth ministry.
- Review and select educational materials and resources to support Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, Chapel, Confirmation, National Youth Conference, and other youth programs.
- Oversee children and youth education (e.g., curriculum design, teaching, special programs, etc.) aligned with HTLC/S mission.
- Collaborate with the Ministry Staff to maximize outreach and evangelism programs (e.g., Easter, Welcome Home, National Youth Conference, etc.).
MINISTRY & OUTREACH:
- Actively engage with HTLC/S families to encourage worship, educational, and mission support.
- Help plan, organize, and lead Confirmation, Sunday School, Chapel, Welcome Home, and faith development programs.
- Nurture congregational awareness and involvement in children, youth, and family ministry.
- Represent the church by serving on HTLC/S committees, community, and educational organizations.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree in ministry, education, or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of ministry experience, preferably in a Christian school.
- Must be a Christian committed to follow Jesus Christ and accept the confessional standards of the Missouri Synod Lutheran Church.
- Membership in Missouri Synod Lutheran Church is preferred with successful completion of Lutheranism 101 at HTLC/S within the first two years of employment.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Duties are performed in an office environment.
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
- Lift/move up to 10 pounds as needed.
