POSITION SUMMARY
The Director of the Warehouse is responsible for the leadership of the warehouse operations including, developing, and implementing strategies for improving key performance indicators, continuous improvement of the warehouse, and upholding best practice standards for order fulfillment, inventory control, storage, and safety. Additionally, the DW is responsible for the oversight of facilities and sanitation including building, equipment maintenance, and pest control, ensuring proper handling and storage of all food products during the shipping, and receiving activities.
Salary:$85,000 - $100,000 yearly
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and implement strategies to meet organizational goals through strategic planning activities, ensuring that established objectives are met or exceeded.
Oversee the implementation of all warehouse operations including scheduling systems, food storage, warehouse temperature control, emergency action plans, security, and audits.
Establish effective procedures and controls for the safe and efficient movement and preservation of products, following established policies to monitor and ensure safety and sanitation measures.
Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) as required.
Maintain and ensure proper inspection, handling, storage, and shipping of produce, refrigerated, frozen, and dry goods in accordance with OSHA, AIB, FA, and local and state regulations.
Direct the activities involved in the efficient movement of products, including accurate receipt, storage, and safe discard of unusable products, maximizing space, and resources, and avoiding waste or damages.
Develop and implement HACCP plans to mitigate potential risk areas such as: product cross-contamination, sanitation, waste management, and pest control.
Maintain a safe and clean warehouse environment. Enforce the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety best practices.
Schedule preventive and corrective maintenance of building facilities and equipment.
Monitor productivity by analyzing and reporting operations KPIs.
Prepare, manage, and monitor department budget, and work to reduce and control expenses.
Coordinate with various departments including Food Supply Chain, Transportation, and Inventory Control teams to optimize the warehouse’s capacity to exceed volume delivery goals.
Direct the hiring and development of the warehouse team, providing mentorship, direction, and training.
Conduct Performance Evaluations in line with company procedures and performance guidelines.
Provide mentorship, direction, and training to warehouse personnel as needed.

Assist management as necessary.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university; APICS certification preferred.
Minimum ten years of warehousing experience, perishable/food warehousing preferred.
Minimum five years of talent management experience.
Demonstrated knowledge of safety programs.
Strong computer proficiency including inventory control systems required (database management preferred, Ceres WMS experience a plus).
High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and typing proficiency; high level of Excel aptitude required with the ability to create complex formulas and pivot tables.
Experience with process improvement methodologies (process mapping, value stream mapping, kaizen, theory of constraints, lean manufacturing).
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment with multiple deadlines and responsibilities, while maintaining composure and ensuring excellent customer service.
Sensitivity to diverse populations with the ability to serve people in a compassionate, patient, friendly, and courteous manner, showing sincere interest in people’s concerns.
Strong moral compass with the ability to exercise good judgment and discretion.
Effective verbal and written communication skills required.
Strong analytical, data-interpretation, planning, and problem-solving skills required.
Experience with e-commerce order fulfillment is strongly preferred.

Must maintain a valid Florida Driver’s License and a reliable, insured personal vehicle.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORKING CONDITIONS
Hours of Operation: Although organization hours are Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., this position may work closer to 45-50 hours per week, especially during peak times such as holiday seasons, growing seasons, and disaster response. After-hours business work is required occasionally throughout the year. Frequent after-hours work is required relating to special events (nights and weekends).
Environment: Involves activities in both office and warehouse environments with exposure to the climate and South Florida weather. There are extended periods of sitting, standing, lifting, bending, listening, talking, and/or visual concentration. The noise in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
Travel: Frequent travel between locations using a personal vehicle is required. Occasional same-day, out-of-town travel for meetings, conferences, and special events using personal vehicle and/or public transportation is required.
OSHA Standards Lifting requirements are 50 pounds and when lifting loads heavier than 50 pounds, use two or more people to lift the load.
