Job summary

Archer is seeking a seasoned leader to oversee the development of the Vehicle Management System for our all-electric VTOL aircraft. You will build and mentor a multi-disciplinary team, define roadmaps, schedules and budgets, and drive system architectures from concept to flight test.

The role requires 10+ years in a related field, an EE/CS/Aerospace degree, and experience with control systems, embedded software, and formal development standards. On-site work is strongly preferred.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in a related field.
• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Aerospace or related field.
• Experience leading technical teams or projects.
• Experience developing requirements for control systems.
• Ability to develop and implement full-time critical systems.
• Knowledge of computer architecture, embedded software, and communication protocols.
• Experience with aircraft development from concept to certification and entry into service.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Experience with Agile/SCRUM and CI/CD/testing.

Responsibilities

• Build, lead, and mentor a multi-disciplinary team responsible for the Vehicle Management System.
• Define roadmaps, schedules, and budgets; organize and prioritize work.
• Propose and evaluate architecture concepts and trade-offs.
• Define and validate system requirements and development plans.
• Contribute to integration and testing; support flight test campaigns.
• Collaborate with suppliers to select, procure, and build components.
