Performance Food Group is seeking a Transportation Supervisor/Manager to oversee all aspects of the transportation function in a fast-paced, customer-oriented environment, including driver selection, routing, safety, and DOT compliance. You will supervise associates, manage department expenses, and coordinate with the Warehouse Manager to maximize route profitability and customer satisfaction.
A CDL and DOT knowledge are preferred; company offers competitive pay and comprehensive benefits.
Performance Foodservice, PFG's broadline distributor, maintains a unique relationship with a variety of local customers, including independent restaurants and hotels, healthcare facilities, schools, and quick-service eateries. A team of sales reps, chefs, consultants, and other experts builds close relationships with customers - providing advice on improving operations, menu development, product selection, and operational strategies. The Performance team delivers delicious food but also goes above and beyond to help independent restaurant owners achieve their dreams.
We Deliver the Goods:
Manages all aspects of the transportation function in a fast-paced, customer-oriented environment, including selection of qualified drivers, routing, driving, safety, unloading, fleet maintenance, customer/driver relationships, and Department of Transportation (DOT) and Operating Company (OpCo) compliance. Includes involvement with the driver selection and orientation process, handling employee relations issues including disciplinary action, monitoring DOT and Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) compliance, managing Transportation Supervisors and monitoring the routing process to ensure customer satisfaction. Functions as a team member within the department and organization, as required, and performs any duty assigned to best serve the company.
