Job summary

River Place Country Club in the Texas Hill Country neighborhood of Austin is seeking a Director of Racquet Sports to lead tennis and pickleball operations within a premier private club. The role focuses on strategic direction, program development, and delivering exceptional member experiences.

The successful candidate will mentor a professional team, drive participation and revenue, and collaborate with multiple club departments to create cohesive, high-service programs for juniors and adults.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years of progressive racquet-sports experience with leadership roles.
• Strong tennis teaching background; pickleball knowledge highly valued.
• Proven ability to grow participation, revenue, and member satisfaction.
• Excellent communication, organization, scheduling, and relationship-building.
• Experience managing budgets, payroll, pricing, retail, events, and reporting.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays, leagues and events.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the strategic vision, annual business plan, and programming calendar for tennis and pickleball.
• Recruit, train, schedule, coach, and evaluate racquet professionals and support staff.
• Deliver and oversee private lessons, group instruction, clinics, camps, leagues, tournaments, and events.
• Expand adult and junior participation while retaining players and building progression.
• Build relationships with members, captains, families, guests, and partners.
• Manage departmental budgets, labor, revenue, retail activity, scheduling, and reporting.
• Maintain high standards for court presentation, safety, equipment, and inventory.
• Collaborate with membership, marketing, food and beverage, fitness, golf, and events teams for integrated experiences.
• Act as a visible ambassador for River Place and Arcis Golf.
