Director of Telecommunications Operations (100% Remote)

Position Summary:

The Director, Telecommunication Operations, will lead and manage all aspects of the organization’s telecommunications infrastructure and operations. This role will ensure reliable, secure, and cost-effective communication services while driving strategy, vendor accountability, and operational excellence.

What you will do:
  • Strategic Leadership & Planning: Develop and execute the organizations telecommunication strategy in alignment with business objectives.
  • Operational Oversight: Manage daily telecom operations to ensure maximum network uptime and service reliability across voice, data and video systems.
  • Vendor and Partner Management: Lead vendor and partner relationships with telecom providers, ensuring SLAs compliance, performance accountability, spam management and effective contract negotiations.
  • Performance & Process Excellence: Define, track and report KPIs through dashboards and operational scorecards.
  • Team Leadership: Build, lead and mentor a high-performing telecom operations team, and provide coaching, feedback and career development opportunities.
  • Compliance & Security: Ensure compliance with regulatory, security and privacy requirements, including STIR/SHAKEN and CPNI protections.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Engineering, Business or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive telecom experience with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Deep knowledge of telecom infrastructure, VoIP, PSTN, number porting, spam/fraud prevention and vendor ecosystems.
  • Demonstrated success building policies, SOPs and scalable operational processes.
  • Strong project management skills with experience leading large-scale system upgrades and technology deployments.
  • Proven ability to negotiate, manage vendors and enforce SLAs.
  • Financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting and P&L management.
