Director of Technical Sales, Asia-Pacific Platform Alliances and Channel

The Director of Technical Sales for Asia-Pacific Platform Alliances and Channel is responsible for leading the team of solutions architects and sales engineers focused on our largest Platform Alliances customer-partners and Channel strategy in the Asia-Pacific region. It is a highly visible role in the company and is the technical face of our partner ecosystem development and go-to-market activities.

Responsibilities

  1. Drive Technical Sales Strategy and Execution
  2. Partner with the Platform Alliance, Channel selling, and Go To Market (GTM) teams in the Asia-Pacific region to achieve and exceed global bookings and revenue targets, prioritizing immediate customer business outcomes as well as long-term expansion and partner growth strategies.
  3. Define the potential of our prioritized Channel partners in the Asia-Pacific region. Work with partners and product teams to unlock and advance joint value and innovation through multiple routes to market.
  4. Support partner GTM activities and evangelism, including speaking engagements, blogs, webinars, trainings, analyst briefings, roadshows, and customer events.

Be at the center of Technical Partner Innovation & Solution

  1. Advance technical requirements and solutioning for joint innovation and market offers, partnering with various product and development teams at Equinix and within our partners’ organizations, to ideate, innovate, test, and validate solutions for prioritized pursuits.
  2. Gather feedback on new and emerging capabilities to inform business planning, monetization routes, and proofs of concept validation work.
  3. Drive advanced training and enablement for partner communities, delivering in-person and digital training assets, and evolving partner training strategies.

Lead and develop a high-performing APAC team

  1. Establish a team of trusted technical and partner-savvy advisors supporting Client Executives and Partner Account Managers to influence decision-making at senior and C-Level levels.
  2. Ensure a team of technical SMEs in strategic platform customer and partner domains, including solution architects and sales engineers, earn partner certifications to better understand their business and advance ecosystem opportunities.
  3. Coach and mentor the team towards high performance, growth, and a collaborative mindset. Support field technical sales, leveraging partner engagement to scale resources and opportunities.

Qualifications

  • 15+ years of experience in technical sales or solutions engineering, with leadership in partner-specific teams.
  • Strong technical background in data center infrastructure, networking, hybrid cloud, AI-ML solutions.
  • Extensive experience with customers and partners in service provider and channel segments.
  • Familiarity with Platform Equinix’s global data center footprint and interconnection portfolio.
  • Proven leadership in supporting top-tier customers and partners with high executive visibility.
  • Expertise in leveraging partner ecosystems for solution building and GTM scaling.
  • Experience with recurring revenue models, complex sales, platform enablement, and solution selling.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and storytelling skills, with a focus on motivating diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Ability to engage and collaborate across sales, marketing, product, success, and partner teams.
  • Commitment to continuous technical learning and innovation-oriented solutions development.
