Job summary

TPI Composites, Inc. in Scottsdale, AZ is seeking a Director of Innovation to lead the technology development function for composite wind blade design, materials, and manufacturing, owning the full pipeline from concept to production readiness.

You will build and guide a team of engineers, set the technology road map, and partner with engineering, operations, quality, and program management to convert innovative ideas into measurable production impact; travel about 25–50%.

Qualifications

• 10–15 years in technology development, R&D, or advanced manufacturing engineering, with leadership experience.
• Experience taking technologies through TRL/MRL maturation to production.
• Hands-on experience applying AI/ML to engineering, R&D, or manufacturing problems.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team to develop new and low-TRL technologies for composites wind blade manufacturing.
• Own TRL 8/9 and MRL 6 maturation with stage-gate processes and go/no-go criteria.
• Develop roadmaps, budgets, and business cases for technology investments.
• Collaborate with engineering, operations, quality, and program management to enable production transitions.
• Protect and grow IP through invention disclosures and patent activity.
