Fletcher Technical Community College in Louisiana seeks a leader to build and supervise a Center for Teaching Excellence and eLearning that advances teaching effectiveness, curriculum alignment, and assessment across programs.

You will drive professional development, instructional design coaching, and partnerships with Institutional Research for accreditation readiness and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Education, Instructional Design, Curriculum & Instruction, Learning Sciences, or closely related field.
• Demonstrated expertise in pedagogical theory, instructional design, assessment strategies, and evidence-based teaching in higher ed.
• Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills to partner with faculty, academic leaders, staff, and admins.
• Knowledge of trends in higher education, online/hybrid learning, accessibility, and QA frameworks.
• Experience managing budgets, supervising staff, and leading cross-functional initiatives.

What You’ll Do:

• Build and lead a comprehensive framework for teaching excellence, curriculum design, active learning, and assessment aligned with institutional goals and quality standards.
• Design and facilitate high-impact professional development—workshops, seminars, learning communities, and onboarding for faculty adopting evidence-based and technology-enhanced teaching practices.
• Provide individualized coaching, mentoring, and instructional design consultation to help faculty align course objectives, learning activities, and assessments.
• Guide academic programs in developing meaningful course- and program-level student learning outcomes, assessment plans, curriculum maps, and annual program reviews.
• Coordinate general education assessment activities, including administration, data collection, training, and interpretation of results for continuous improvement.
• Serve as a non-voting member of the Curriculum Committee to ensure new and revised courses/programs include clear outcomes, aligned assessments, and quality elements.
• Partner with Institutional Research to collect, analyze, and report data for accreditation and compliance (e.g., SACSCOC) and to inform decision‑making.
• Lead the evaluation, integration, and training of educational technologies, software, and the learning management system to support online/hybrid teaching and accessibility.
• Manage the Center for Teaching Excellence and eLearning operations, including budget development, facilities, equipment, and supervision of staff (performance evaluations, leave approval, coaching, and development).
• Represent the college at convocation, recruitment events, committees, and professional development activities; foster a culture of respect, inclusion, and continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Education, Instructional Design, Curriculum & Instruction, Learning Sciences, or a closely related field.
• Demonstrated expertise in pedagogical theory, instructional design, assessment strategies, and evidence-based teaching practices in higher education.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in faculty development, instructional leadership, academic effectiveness, or a related role in higher education.
• Experience supporting accreditation processes (e.g., SACSCOC) and program review cycles.
• Familiarity with Quality Matters (QM) or similar course/program quality standards.
