Job summary

SmartRecruiters, Inc. is seeking a Nursing Director to lead designated nursing units and ensure safe, efficient patient care. You will plan, organize, direct, coordinate, and evaluate unit activities while providing direction to assistant nurse managers and supporting their clinical and managerial development.

This role carries 24-hour accountability for the units. The ideal candidate has 5 to 7 years of nursing leadership experience, Virginia RN licensure (or compact), and current BLS

Qualifications

• RN Licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia or Compact Licensure Agreement.
• Current BLS certification.
• Experience with open heart surgery.

Responsibilities

• The Director leads designated nursing units and is responsible for patient population and staff.

Job description

The Director is the designated leader for specific nursing units. He/She is responsible for the patient population and assigned staff. The Director plans, organizes, directs, coordinates, and evaluates the unit activities. He/She provides direction, support and guidance to the assistant nurse managers and aids in their development both clinically and managerially. 24 hour accountability of units

5+ to 7 years experience

SKILLS AND CERTIFICATIONS

• Experience with open heart surgery

IDEAL CANDIDATE Our ideal candidate will have experience managing surgical services for a 300 + bed facility. The ideal candidate will also have experience working in open heart surgery.
