Job summary

Jaz Staffing Agency is seeking a Director of Surgical Services to lead the department in Lake Havasu City, AZ. This leadership role ensures top-quality patient care through expert nursing oversight and strong operational management.

The incumbent will direct OR and Endoscopy operations across multiple sites, supervise managers, and manage a sizable FTE workforce while maintaining compliance, policy development, and a responsible budget.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in Arizona.
• ACLS certification required upon hire.
• 5+ years' experience managing 15+ OR suites; 3+ years as a director of OR in a critical care hospital.

Responsibilities

• Oversee 9 Operating Rooms and 2 Endoscopy suites in the main hospital, plus 4 OR and 2 Endoscopy suites at the outpatient center.
• Provide direct supervision to 3 Managers.
• Manage 60 FTE in the main hospital and 25 FTE at the outpatient center.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and standards for surgical services.
• Collaborate with other departments to improve patient outcomes and experiences.
• Develop and implement policies, procedures, and protocols for the department.
• Manage departmental budget and resources.

Position Summary:

The Director of Surgical Services is responsible for directing the department's activities and resources to achieve both departmental and organizational objectives. This is a leadership position that ensures the delivery of patient care at the highest standards, utilizing the skills and expertise of an experienced Registered Nurse.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee 9 Operating Rooms (OR) and 2 Endoscopy Suites in the main hospital, as well as 4 OR and 2 Endoscopy suites at the outpatient surgery center.
• Provide direct supervision to 3 Managers within the department.
• Manage a total of 60 full-time equivalent (FTE) staff in the main hospital and 25 FTE staff in the Outpatient Surgery Center.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and standards related to surgical services.
• Collaborate with other departments to improve patient outcomes and experiences.
• Develop and implement policies, procedures, and protocols for the department.
• Manage departmental budget and resources effectively.

Qualifications:

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Arizona.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing required, Master's degree preferred.
• -5 years' experience managing 15+ OR suites and at least 3 years as a director of OR in a critical care hospital
• Certification: ACLS required upon hire
• Strong knowledge of surgical procedures, standards, and regulations.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and make decisions under pressure.
