This role is responsible for leading production planning, forecasting, materials management, warehousing, shipping, customer service, and inventory operations to ensure reliable supply, efficient site performance, and exceptional customer support. As a key member of the Site Leadership Team, the Director partners closely with manufacturing, operations, and business stakeholders to align supply chain strategy with production requirements, customer needs, and long-term business objectives. The role drives continuous improvement, optimizes asset utilization and production scheduling, develops organizational capability, and leads cross-functional initiatives that enhance operational excellence across the site.**RESPONSIBILITIES:****Leadership & Team Management*** Lead and develop the site Supply Chain organization, including production planning, forecasting, warehousing, materials management, shipping, receiving, and customer service.* Build, coach, and mentor high-performing teams while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.* Ensure effective resource planning and organizational alignment to support business objectives and customer requirements.* Drive talent development, succession planning, performance management, and leadership growth across the department.* Partner with site and corporate leaders to support strategic supply chain initiatives and organizational development programs.**Strategy/Business Objectives:*** Lead site operations planning, production scheduling, and forecasting to achieve business objectives and meet customer demand.* Develop and execute supply chain strategy, goals, KPIs, and performance metrics in alignment with business and global supply chain priorities.* Drive site performance through effective management of revenue, net working capital (NWC), and on-time, in-full (OTIF) customer delivery.* Lead the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process, balancing production capacity, customer forecasts, new business opportunities, and changing demand.* Oversee warehouse operations, inventory management, material flow, spare parts, and compliance with applicable storage and import/export regulations.* Manage relationships with customers, auditors, and external stakeholders regarding supply chain, logistics, scheduling, and inventory activities.* Serve as a key member of the site leadership team, championing safety, continuous improvement, productivity, and operational excellence initiatives.* Manage departmental budgets, drive cost savings, and optimize working capital through effective inventory and production planning strategies.**REQUIREMENTS:*** Bachelor's degree required; MBA or other advanced degree preferred.* Minimum of 8 years of progressive supply chain, operations, logistics, or manufacturing experience, including leadership responsibilities.* Strong knowledge of supply chain management principles, production planning, inventory management, and operational processes.* Demonstrated experience leading teams and driving continuous improvement initiatives within a manufacturing environment.* Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, projects, and business objectives in a fast-paced setting.* Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.* Strong analytical, problem-solving, negotiation, and decision-making capabilities, with a focus on achieving business results.* APICS/ASCM and/or Six Sigma certification preferred; experience in process improvement and operational excellence methodologies is highly desirable.The Evonik Group adopts an Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) approach.
