Job summary

Alvarez & Marsal is seeking a Director, Supply Chain: Procurement & Sourcing to lead end-to-end sourcing initiatives for portfolio companies within private equity. Open to candidates across the U.S., with travel up to 80%.

The role requires 10–15+ years in consulting or industry, direct materials expertise, and experience with top-tier firms; MBA is preferred. You will design strategies, negotiate suppliers, map processes, and drive EBITDA improvement.

Qualifications

• 10–15+ years of consulting and/or industry operating experience.
• Experience with a top-tier strategy firm or Big-4 consultancy is required.
• Deep industry expertise in direct materials (steel, resin, commodity chemicals, packaging, food & beverage, automotive, textiles, solvents, plastics, polymers, adhesives, pulp, IT).
• Experience in sourcing and procurement within manufacturing is preferred.
• Willingness to travel up to 80% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Gain a comprehensive understanding of a client’s procurement organization and sourcing capabilities.
• Develop and implement sourcing strategies aligning with growth and financial objectives.
• Lead supplier identification, approval, contract and pricing negotiations, and vendor relations.
• Develop implementation plans to drive procurement and sourcing changes.
• Analyze data, deliver findings, and lead teams to deliver results on time and with quality.
