Job summary

Wallace Global Fund seeks a visionary Director of Communications to lead internal and external communications, elevate the Fund’s priorities, and advance its global partners. The role focuses on deploying broad strategies across traditional media, digital platforms, partnerships, and events to amplify the Fund’s impact in social justice and environmental change.

The Director will report to the Executive Director, supervise a collaborative team, and support grantees while championing the Henry A.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated thought leadership and political savvy in communications, branding, news, and media relations.
• Outstanding writing and editing skills, able to craft persuasive narratives aligned with priorities.
• Track record in strategic communications planning and crisis management.
• Ability to lead multiple programs with communications reinforcing Fund’s work.
• Experience in executing social media campaigns with measurable results.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and evaluate a strategic communications plan with executive leadership.
• Lead design and execution of communications strategies, platforms, and partnerships.
• Create and deploy marketing/PR strategies to deepen relationships with audiences and press.
• Coordinate events, including the Henry A. Wallace Award and related communications.
• Manage primary institutional print and electronic materials and digital content across channels.
• Support grantees by aligning communications with program priorities and impact.
• Guide thought leadership and movement-building communications for staff and board.
• Support development of Board materials, planning documents, and investment presentations.
• Develop communications plans for program areas and opportunities of interest.
• Maintain website updates and social media cadence; measure engagement where possible.
• Provide crisis management and issue communications support if needed.
• Oversee resources and external partners to ensure timely, effective communications.
