Job description

Director of State-Wide Fundraising | Full-Time (40 Hours/Week) | Headquarters (remote)

Ele's Place is seeking a state-wide fundraising director as a member of the HQ team and is primarily responsible for fundraising and development for the benefit of programs and operations in all branch locations. Efforts will include building relationships with foundations and grant research, writing, and administration. The other focus will be fundraising through state-wide corporate support.

Responsibilities:

  1. Oversees state-wide grant research, submission, and tracking. Provides grant support for individual branches including research and writing.
    1. Conducts thorough research of potential public and private funding sources that can finance new and existing programs and capital projects.
    2. Maintains a year-long calendar of due dates for grant submission and reports.
    3. Prepares proposals for submission to public and private funding sources.
    4. Conducts liaison activities with funding sources.
    5. Prepares progress reports, final reports, and financial reimbursement requests for grant-funded projects.
    6. Prepares annual budget for grant revenue.
    7. Works with program directors to assess needs and gather necessary information for grant submissions.
    8. Organizes and maintains records related to grant submissions and to grant-funded projects.
  2. Works with President/CEO to research and solicit support from organizations that cover more than one branch location.
    1. Researches possible partnerships with corporations that would support the mission of Ele’s Place.
    2. Stewards relationships with corporate contacts.
    3. Coordinates relationships and asks with local branch directors as needed.
    4. Participates with the Governing Board Development Committee to coordinate state-wide fundraising efforts.
    5. Attends meetings with corporate partners.
  3. Participates in Ele’s Place staff leadership meetings as requested.
    1. Participates in internal leadership meetings as requested.
    2. Participates in internal development meetings.
    3. Helps to set fundraising strategy for the overall organization.

Qualifications:

Education Level: Bachelor’s Degree in a related field to the writing, research, or program development responsibilities of the position, post-graduate experience preferred.

Certifications, Licensure, Registrations: Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) designation and/or Certified Financial Risk Manager (CFRM) is a bonus.

Experience Level: Minimum three years of successful experience in the grant-writing or fundraising fields for a non-profit organization.

  • Strong interpersonal skills to effectively build relationships with grantors, donors, and colleagues.
  • Positive attitude with an ability to show concern for other people and the community.
  • Ability to demonstrate presence, self-confidence, good judgment, and effectively listen to others.
  • High degree of accountability, responsibility, and professional integrity.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365, Adobe, and fundraising database (Blackbaud preferred).
  • Excellent writing and other communication skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple demands and deadlines.
