Job description

We're looking for a Director of Specification Sales - West Accent and Downlighting Products to join Cooper Lighting Solutions as a Home Based employee in the United States, ideally located in the western USA including Texas.

As the Director of Specification Sales for West Accent and Downlighting products, you will be responsible for growing the sales of Cooper Lighting Solutions' specification products, including brands such as Portfolio, Halo Commercial, Iris, RSA, Halo, and Halo Track.

This role requires travel throughout Western North America to collaborate with sales managers and independent agents, educating and motivating them to specify our products, leading to increased sales of our top linear and ambient brands.

What you'll do

  • Work closely with regional sales managers to drive sales of key ambient lighting brands.
  • Travel approximately 50-60% across the country to work with regional managers and sales agents, increasing product awareness and sales.
  • Collaborate with product development and marketing teams to identify new lighting solutions and prioritize new product development.
  • Report on key performance metrics to senior leadership.
  • Build relationships with key specifiers and agents to solve complex lighting challenges.

Your qualifications

  • Deep knowledge of lighting applications and products, especially interior lighting.
  • 7+ years of experience in a specification sales role.
  • Strategic thinking skills for future product planning.
  • 5+ years managing or partnering with sales representatives or agencies.
  • Strong proficiency in managing and analyzing sales data.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent; Master's preferred.
