Summary:

The Director of Specialty Pharmacy Operations is responsible for developing and leading the operational aspects of Rx To Go. This critical role is accountable for overseeing and transforming intake/benefits investigation, patient advocacy, prior authorizations, and pharmacy technicians to ensure a patient-centric and cost-effective operational model for Rx To Go. The Director of Specialty Pharmacy Operations will collaborate with Senior Management to set strategic goals, analyze current processes, and implement procedures to maximize operational efficiency and productivity. The Director of Specialty Pharmacy Operations will also act as the P.I.C. (Pharmacist in Charge).

This includes overseeing the day-to-day activities of the pharmacy, ensuring that patients receive high-quality care and support, and managing the pharmacy's budget and resources. The Director also plays a key role in developing and implementing new programs and services, as well as training and developing pharmacy staff.

Primary Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Develops and implements policies and procedures for intake, patient advocacy, and prior authorization teams across Rx To Go.
  • Ensures that patients receive high-quality care and support, including timely and accurate dispensing of medications, patient education, and coordination of care with FCS healthcare providers.
  • Manage the pharmacy's budget and resources and ensure that they are used efficiently and effectively.
  • Develop and implement new programs and services to meet the needs of FCS patients, providers, and external stakeholders.
  • Train and develop pharmacy staff and ensure that they have the skills and knowledge necessary to provide excellent patient care.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of the pharmacy and identify areas for improvement.
  • Work closely with other departments within the healthcare organization, such as clinical services, finance, and marketing, to ensure that the pharmacy is meeting its goals and objectives.
Education/Certifications & Licenses
  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • Master’s Degree preferred.
Experience
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of pharmacy experience
  • Minimum of five (5) years management in specialty pharmacy
