Job summary

F. Schumacher & Co. seeks a dynamic Director of Space Planning + FF&E to lead the design, construction, and execution of showroom and office renovations across regions. You will partner with New Locations/Real Estate and Visual Merchandising to drive visual strategy, expansion, and cosmetics upgrades.

The role manages internal and external teams, ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery while upholding brand standards and cost efficiencies. Travel to sites is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in Architecture, Interior Design, Construction Management, or related field.
• 7+ years in store planning or interior design, luxury retail preferred.
• Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, MS 365 and Adobe Creative Suite.

Responsibilities

• Lead space planning and design development for all new location and renovation projects.
• Oversee FF&E design schemes, selections, procurement, and budget alignment.
• Coordinate with New Locations team to define market-specific design requirements by location and room.
• Run internal design reviews to secure stakeholder approvals.
• Lead Construction and FF&E Project Managers to deliver on time and within budget.
• Collaborate with Visual Merchandising to meet display requirements and brand standards.
• Review architectural, MEP, and millwork drawings for permits and bid coordination.
• Manage contractor selection, bids, and contracting with vendors.
