As a Director of Software Engineering at JPMorgan Chase within the Corporate Sector - Finance and Treasury, you will lead a technical area and drive impact within teams, technologies, and projects across departments. Utilize your in-depth knowledge of software, applications, technical processes, and product management to drive multiple complex projects and initiatives, serving as a primary decision-maker for your teams and fostering innovation and solution delivery.

Job responsibilities

  • Lead technology and process implementations to achieve functional technology objectives.
  • Make decisions influencing teams’ resources, budgets, tactical operations, and the execution and implementation of processes and procedures.
  • Maintain governance accountability for coding decisions, control obligations, and success measures such as cost of ownership, maintainability, and portfolio operations.
  • Deliver technical solutions that can be leveraged across multiple businesses and domains.
  • Influence peer leaders and senior stakeholders across business, product, and technology teams.
  • Champion the firm’s culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect.
  • Lead the transformation of the firm’s Interest Rate Risk platform as an integrated risk data capture, aggregation, calculation, and reporting platform, leveraging the firm’s risk models for measuring interest rate risk.
  • Develop and uphold data architecture standards, including interfaces, reliability, and governance frameworks, while enhancing data sourcing, orchestration, and reporting capabilities.
  • Evaluate innovative technologies to drive the success of the "Next Generation" Interest Rate Risk Platform.
  • Develop multi-year roadmaps aligned with business and architecture strategies, serving as a subject matter expert, advising on complex technical issues and solutions.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training or certification in team leadership concepts and 10+ years of applied experience; additionally, 5+ years leading technologists to manage and solve complex technical issues within your domain.
  • Knowledge of Finance and Treasury products.
  • Hands-on expertise in Python, numerical libraries, and statistical models.
  • Experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
  • Deep knowledge of data architecture, best practices, and industry trends.
  • Expertise with AWS or other public cloud providers, Databricks, Snowflake, Airflow, databases, and analytics.
  • Proven ability to influence and drive change across organizational boundaries.
  • Strong communication skills for engaging with senior leaders and executives.
  • Advanced experience leading technologists to solve complex technical challenges.
  • Educational background in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Experience working on BI and AI/ML solutions with business stakeholders and data scientists is a plus.
