Job summary

Fidelity seeks a Director of Software Engineering in Durham, NC to lead design, development, and automation pipelines, while applying DevOps and CI/CD practices. You will guide API strategy using Node.js/Express, NestJS or GraphQL and drive architectural decisions for scalable web apps in a financial services setting.

You will shape testing standards, mentor multiple teams, and research new technologies to align with business goals and enterprise-wide solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Biotechnology, or related field.
• Six years of experience as Director, Software Engineering in financial services building web apps, components and APIs with TypeScript/Java and GraphQL.
• Alternative: Master’s degree with four years of director-level experience in similar tech stack.

Responsibilities

• Translate business vision into architectural strategy and design across platforms.
• Lead cross-functional teams in architecture design and major tech initiatives.
• Guide deployment, documentation, and delivery of key technology programs.
• Advise senior management on technical strategy and platform direction.
