Job summary

SAE IndustryTechnologies Consortia (SAE ITC) and PRI seek a Director of Engineering - Applications to lead the technology strategy and full‑stack platform development, including microservices and AI components.

You will manage global cross‑functional teams, drive release governance, budget oversight, and collaboration with product, UX, and solution architects to deliver scalable, high‑quality software across affiliates.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive software engineering experience, incl. 7+ years hands-on in modern technologies.
• Metric driven — uses Jira tickets, project plans, and logs to guide improvements.
• 7+ years leading and developing high-performing software teams, incl. managers.
• 3+ years designing and operating Microservices in production.
• Broad technical leadership across ecosystems, platforms, and processes at scale.
• Experience driving engineering strategy, roadmaps, and architecture aligned to priorities and budgets.
• Exceptional leadership and people-management skills; coaching and talent development.
• Innovative, entrepreneurial, customer-focused mindset; drives continuous improvement.
• Outstanding communication and relationship-building across org levels.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and modern DevOps.
• Ability to translate business needs into scalable technical solutions.
• Proven ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
• Ability to set goals, accountability, and drive execution within engineering teams.
• Self-starter with bias for action, ownership and results.
