We’ve partnered with a fast-growing, Series-A-track SaaS company transforming how project-based organizations manage resources and workflows using AI. Their platform acts as a smart "superlayer" on top of existing ERP and HR tools—generating intelligent, real-time recommendations that save time, improve delivery, and drive real business value.

They’ve tripled revenue in 2023 and nearly doubled again in 2024—and they’re not slowing down. To help scale their engineering infrastructure upstream and lead a mission-critical team, they’re hiring a hands-on Director of Engineering.

️ The Role

This is a player/coach role (80% technical leadership, 20% people leadership) where you’ll:

• As a leader drive architecture and development for highly scalable, distributed systems
• Build and optimize data pipelines (batch + streaming), ensuring reliability, throughput, and performance
• Lead technical design discussions, resolve bottlenecks, and champion best practices
• Spend ~2 hours per day on people leadership: mentoring, sprint planning, and aligning team goals
• Collaborate with AI and backend teams on strategic platform enhancements
• Report directly to the CTO (ex-high growth founder, technical hands-on leader)
• 7–12 years of hands-on software engineering experience
• Track record of building enterprise-grade, B2B SaaS platforms - especially with high SLAs, mission-critical systems, or time/resource management tools
• Production experience with distributed systems, large-scale data processing, and modern backend infrastructurea
• Fluent in at least one of: Ruby (preferred), Python, or TypeScript
• Startup experience strongly preferred (Series A to C range)
• Engineering degree required (CS preferred; top-tier schools a bonus)
• Bonus: background in ERP, AI platforms, or developer productivity tools
• Huge technical ownership in a scaling SaaS product with clear PMF
• Company-wide focus on engineering excellence and velocity
• Tight-knit, high-caliber engineering org (30 engineers, 55-person company total)
