The Director of Social Media has a track record of leveraging AI-powered tools to develop and execute the most innovative strategies and track progress toward clear goals. The Director of Social Media is a key member of the External Affairs team, works closely with its senior leaders across the university, and collaborates with colleagues across divisions and locations. As the leader of a global team, the Director of Social Media must work across time zones and set location-specific strategies that build Northeastern’s brand presence in-market and worldwide. In addition to creating original and innovative content tailored to each platform, the Director of Social Media coordinates and collaborates on all social-first content creation, including photo and video production, and works with the editorial, photography, video and media relations teams to translate reporting by Northeastern Global News (NGN) to social networks. A crucial piece of the university’s social media strategy is the 24/7 monitoring and analytics across all relevant platforms, including timely alerts to the appropriate stakeholders, and regular reports capturing critical moments and trends.
