Archer, an aerospace company in San Jose, CA, seeks a Director of Security Architecture and Engineering to design Archer’s enterprise security infrastructure and technical vision, reporting to the CISO and guiding security across identity, cloud, and infrastructure.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information security, engineering, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
• 10+ years of experience in security engineering, cloud architecture, infrastructure design, or related roles, with at least 3 years in a lead/principal architect role.
• Expert-level understanding of Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA) across multiple domains (identity, network, cloud, application).
• Deep technical expertise in cloud security architecture (AWS and Azure) including networking, identity services, compute security, data protection, and logging.
• Hands-on experience with identity and access management platforms (Okta, Azure AD) and privileged access management solutions.
• Expert understanding of NIST SP 800-171 and CMMC Level 2 frameworks, with ability to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Strong knowledge of SOX ITGC, ISO 27001, and control architecture that balances security and operations.
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code, containers, Kubernetes, and DevSecOps practices.
• Proficiency in threat modeling methodologies and residual risk assessment.
• Strong communication skills to present security architecture to executives and boards.

Responsabilidades

• Design and implement a unified Zero Trust Architecture spanning identity, network, cloud, application, and infrastructure domains.
• Lead architecture and design of cloud security infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP), including landing zones and shared services.
• Ensure compliance with NIST SP 800-171, CMMC Level 2, SOX ITGC, and ITAR through technical roadmaps.
• Design IAM architecture (Okta, PAM, identity governance) for scalability and auditable controls.
• Create security blueprints and reference architectures for cloud, microservices, and DevSecOps.
• Establish DevSecOps practices with CI/CD security gates, IaC scanning, and automated compliance evidence collection.
• Lead security architecture reviews for major projects and tradeoff discussions.
• Drive enterprise security tooling strategy (SIEM, CSPM, endpoint detection, threat intel).
• Mentor security engineers, set standards, and foster a security engineering culture.
• Stay current with threats and architectures; present updates to leadership and external auditors.
