Job summary

Madison City Schools in Madison, Alabama seeks a Coordinator of Secondary Education to direct and supervise the curriculum, instruction, testing, assessments, guidance and grants for the district's secondary program and transition grades 6th and 9th.

This exempt, full-year role reports to the Superintendent and requires a Master’s degree and Alabama admin certification along with teaching/leadership experience to influence district accreditation and staff development.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university.
• Valid Alabama certification in administrative supervision.
• Three years of successful teaching experience.
• Preferred three years of successful administrative experience at the secondary level.
• Must meet suitability criteria under Alabama Child Protection Act of 1999 and Act No. 2002-457.
• Such alternatives to the above qualifications may be found appropriate and acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Direct and supervise the curriculum programs for the District and oversee secondary and transition grades.
• Provide leadership in developing the secondary instructional programs and achieve state core standards.
• Work with principals and teachers to develop and deliver curriculum and formulate objectives for instructional plans.
• Monitor compliance with state accreditation standards and district achievement scores.
• Coordinate district testing and monitor program success; recommend materials and programs.
• Assist in recruitment, placement, and development of district personnel; support professional development.
