Job summary

KIPP Nashville Public Schools is seeking a Director of Operations to lead school-wide operational systems, budgeting, enrollment, attendance, and communications. This role supports Principals and school leadership, drives efficiency, and champions continuous improvement across facilities, transportation, and HR.

The position requires a Bachelor’s Degree and 4+ years in operations, preferably in K-12 settings, with strong collaboration skills and a willingness to engage with under-resourced

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree
• Four or more years of work experience highly preferred
• 2+ years experience in K-12 school operations strongly preferred; prior experience as a teacher a plus
• Experience working with under-resourced communities, families, and/or students
• Demonstrated success in building relationships and trust with leaders, teachers, students, parents and community
• Demonstrated success with design and execution of logistics
• Experience managing and influencing teams and individuals to meet specific and strategic outcomes
• Demonstrated success managing a large budget
• Proficiency in Spanish and/or Arabic preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and Google applications, with the ability to quickly learn new technologies

Responsibilities

• Recruit and enroll students, refining and executing recruitment plans
• Directly manage school operations team, interns, and volunteers
• Manage attendance and student information systems, notify issues
• Oversee daily student arrival, dismissal, and tardiness procedures
• Coordinate family and visitor procedures and communications
• Manage external communications: reports, newsletters, changes
• Oversee all supplies and materials for staff and students
• Partner with Principal to build and monitor the school budget
• Handle procurement, bids, and purchasing tracking
• Oversee transportation and food services, liaising with teams
• Serve as HR liaison for onboarding and licensing
• Manage facilities, campus audits, and vendor relations
• Track tech inventory and coordinate IT with data teams
• Support professional development and growth mindset for staff
