Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in institutional food service management, dietetics, or a related field.
• Ability to work effectively with employees and community.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Master’s degree and/or RD status preferred; experience in school food service management.
• ServeSafe or 5-year recency requirement, or within 30 days of hire.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to present to diverse audiences.
• Leadership qualities for working with students, teachers, and the community.
• Proficiency with MS Office, Google Workspace, and email.
• Familiarity with equity and inclusion frameworks and non-discriminatory practices.
• Budgeting, procurement, and inventory management knowledge for nutrition programs.
• Nutrition education program development and collaboration with schools.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Executive Director of Finance with budget preparation and food service accounting.
• Staff and position staffing decisions for food service managers and workers.
• Develop and administer a school nutrition program in line with regulations and policies.
• Manage the nutrition personnel program including placement, classification, and evaluations.
• Ensure food safety standards and proper record-keeping.
• Plan nutritious meals considering state/federal guidelines, student preferences, and cost.
• Maintain a feasible financial policy and budgeting controls.
• Procure food, supplies, and equipment per regulations.
• Maintain inventory of equipment and supplies.
• Develop plans for kitchen facilities and equipment purchases.
• Interpret goals of the program to stakeholders and the public.
• Develop nutrition education programs in division schools and assist teachers.
