Job summary

Anderson School District 3 seeks an experienced Director of Maintenance to lead the Maintenance Department, ensuring safe, functional district facilities and ideal support for student learning.

Responsibilities include strategic leadership of maintenance programs, project oversight, and ensuring compliance with safety and district policies; reporting to the Deputy Superintendent. This is a 260-day, full-time role in South Carolina.

Qualifications

• Five years in facilities maintenance, construction, or related field.
• Minimum three years of supervisory/managerial experience.
• Knowledge of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry).
• Valid driver's license with clean record.
• Able to pass background checks and pre-employment screenings.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, and supervise daily maintenance operations to keep facilities safe and functional.
• Develop and evaluate preventive maintenance programs to extend asset life.
• Lead maintenance staff with professionalism and strong customer service.
• Oversee projects—maintenance, renovation, improvement—within schedule and budget.
• Address emergencies, weather events, and other facility-related issues promptly.
• Inspect facilities to identify maintenance needs and safety concerns.
• Oversee procurement of materials, equipment, and contracted services.
• Ensure compliance with laws, safety standards, and district policies.
• Collaborate with admins to prioritize maintenance for instructional activities.
• Maintain records: work orders, inspections, inventories, schedules.
