Job summary

Blue Chip Talent, in partnership with a retail organization, seeks a Director of Business Systems to lead a large-scale SAP S/4HANA initiative and oversee enterprise business systems. This hands-on leadership role drives ERP delivery, PMO governance, and post-go-live stabilization.

You will guide cross-functional teams, manage integrations, and translate business needs into scalable ERP solutions with a long-range roadmap.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of SAP/ERP leadership with at least one end-to-end implementation.
• Ownership of end-to-end ERP implementation including go-live and stabilization.
• Extensive SAP experience, S/4HANA or similar ERP environments.
• PMO governance, schedules, risk management, and cutover experience.
• Hands-on leadership of SAP functional areas: sales, inventory, WM, procurement, finance.
• Experience with system integrations and third-party apps across ERP processes.
• SIT, UAT, data migration, production readiness, and hypercare experience.
• Experience managing ERP Analysts and external partners.
• S/4HANA Public Cloud implementation experience.
• Familiar with SAP Activate methodology and lifecycle.
• Retail/auto/manufacturing ERP implementation experience.
• Knowledge of SAP SD, MM, FICO, and WM processes.
• ERP integrations with POS, financing, fulfillment, logistics, delivery.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end SAP ERP implementation activities across retail ops, finance, procurement, inventory, WM, and order fulfillment.
• Establish and maintain PMO governance, project plans, risk management processes, milestone tracking, and delivery accountability.
• Oversee system integrations between SAP and third-party applications, ensuring alignment across functional areas.
• Direct implementation readiness activities, including testing, data migration, cutover planning, go-live execution, and hypercare.
• Manage implementation partners, SAP functional teams, and internal resources to resolve critical project issues and dependencies.
• Lead and support a team of ERP Analysts while remaining directly involved in troubleshooting and implementation execution.
• Translate operational requirements into integrated ERP solutions that support end-to-end business processes.
• Develop a long-term business systems roadmap focused on production stabilization, process improvements, and future enhancements.

This hands-on leadership role drives end-to-end ERP delivery, establishes PMO governance, manages cross-functional integrations, and supports go-live execution and long-term system stabilization.

Job Duties

• Lead end-to-end SAP ERP implementation activities across retail operations, finance, procurement, inventory, warehouse management, and order fulfillment

Skills Required:

• Minimum 5 years of SAP/ERP leadership experience, including direct people management and demonstrated ownership of at least one complete, end-to-end SAP implementation from planning through go-live and post-production stabilization
• Proven ownership of at least one complete, end-to-end enterprise ERP implementation, including go-live and post-implementation stabilization
• Extensive SAP implementation experience, including SAP S/4HANA or comparable SAP ERP environments
• Demonstrated experience establishing or managing PMO governance, implementation schedules, risk mitigation, and cutover execution
• Hands-on experience overseeing multiple SAP functional areas, including sales/order management, inventory, warehouse management, procurement, and finance
• Experience managing cross-system integrations, third-party applications, and end-to-end ERP business processes
• Experience with system integration testing (SIT), user acceptance testing (UAT), data migration, production readiness, and hypercare
• Experience managing ERP Analysts, enterprise applications teams, and external implementation partners
• SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud implementation experience
• Experience with SAP Activate methodology and SAP implementation lifecycle practices
• Retail, automotive, manufacturing, or other complex operational ERP implementation experience
• Knowledge of SAP Sales and Distribution (SD), Materials Management (MM), Finance and Controlling (FICO), and warehouse management processes
• Experience integrating ERP platforms with point-of-sale, customer financing, fulfillment, logistics, and delivery systems
• Experience supporting ERP implementations within lean IT organizations
