  • Experience in petroleum, fuels, lubricants, transportation, industrial distribution, mining, energy, manufacturing, or related B2B industries.
  • Prior leadership experience overseeing multiple teams, departments, or sales support functions.
  • Strong understanding of sales support, account management, customer retention, and revenue growth strategies.
  • Experience using CRM systems, ERP platforms, reporting tools, and Microsoft Office applications.

Role Summary

The Director of Sales Support is responsible for leading and aligning the internal support functions that drive customer satisfaction, sales execution, account retention, and profitable growth across Senergy Petroleum’s commercial fuels, lubricants, DEF, cardlock, contracts, and technical services segments. This role provides strategic oversight for Inside Sales, Contracts, Lubricant Technical Engineering, and Business Development Specialists functions. The Director of Sales Support ensures these teams operate with consistency, urgency, accuracy, and a strong customer‑first mindset while supporting the broader sales organization in achieving profitability, margin, retention, and growth objectives. The Director serves as a key partner to Sales Leadership, Operations, Supply, Pricing, Finance, and Executive Leadership to improve sales processes, strengthen customer relationships, support contract execution, increase share of wallet, and ensure internal teams are equipped to deliver an exceptional customer experience.

Sales Support Leadership
  • Provide leadership, direction, and accountability for the Customer Service, Key Accounts, Inside Sales, Contracts, Lubricant Technical Engineer, and Business Development Specialists.
  • Develop and execute a sales support strategy that improves customer responsiveness, internal efficiency, account retention, revenue growth, and sales team effectiveness.
  • Ensure all support functions are aligned with company sales goals, market priorities, customer expectations, and operational capabilities.
  • Partner with sales leaders to identify gaps in customer coverage, account support, proposal follow‑up, technical support, and sales administration.
  • Establish consistent processes, service standards, communication expectations, and performance metrics across all assigned teams.

Inside Sales Leadership
  • Lead the Inside Sales function to drive proactive customer outreach, lead follow‑up, quote conversion, customer retention, and incremental sales growth.
  • Establish activity standards and measurable expectations for outbound calls, email campaigns, quote follow‑up, opportunity tracking, and CRM updates.
  • Ensure Inside Sales partners effectively with outside sales representatives to support new business development, account penetration, and customer engagement.
  • Monitor sales pipeline activity, opportunity progression, and conversion performance.
  • Identify training needs and provide coaching to improve sales communication, product knowledge, negotiation skills, and customer follow‑through.
Contracts Oversight
  • Oversee the Contracts function to ensure contract development, renewals, amendments, documentation, and compliance processes are accurate and timely.
  • Partner with Sales, Finance, Legal, Pricing, Supply, and Operations to support contract pricing, terms, obligations, and customer commitments.
  • Ensure contract‑related workflows support profitability, risk management, customer expectations, and internal execution.
  • Maintain visibility into upcoming renewals, expiring agreements, pricing changes, and contract obligations.
  • Improve contract tracking, documentation standards, approval processes, and communication between internal stakeholders.
Lubricant Technical Engineer Oversight
  • Provide leadership and business direction to the Lubricant Technical Engineer function to support sales growth, customer retention, technical credibility, and product performance.
  • Ensure technical support is aligned with strategic lubricant accounts, customer needs, product applications, and sales opportunities.
  • Support lubricant surveys, equipment audits, oil analysis reviews, technical recommendations, product conversions, and issue resolution.
  • Partner with Sales and Supplier representatives to deliver value‑added lubricant solutions, training, and customer‑facing technical expertise.
  • Ensure technical recommendations support customer performance, operational reliability, product compatibility, and Senergy’s lubricant growth strategy.
Business Development Specialist
  • Provide strategic leadership and accountability for the Business Development Specialist focused on customers and related market opportunities.
  • Support market planning, prospect identification, account targeting, and customer development.
  • Partner with sales and operational teams to ensure opportunities are properly qualified, supported, priced, and executed.
  • Monitor pipeline activity, customer engagement, proposal development, and business growth opportunities.
  • Ensure business development efforts align with Senergy’s capabilities in fuels, lubricants, DEF, equipment, service, logistics, and technical support.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
  • Serve as a bridge between Sales, Operations, Supply, Pricing, Finance, Billing, Dispatch, and Executive Leadership.
  • Facilitate communication between support teams and field sales teams to ensure customer commitments are clear and executable.
  • Identify workflow breakdowns and implement improvements that reduce rework, improve accountability, and enhance the customer experience.
  • Partner with Pricing and Supply teams to ensure timely communication of market changes, pricing updates, supplier programs, and customer‑impacting information.
  • Collaborate with Finance and Billing to resolve customer account issues, invoicing concerns, contract questions, and payment‑related disruptions.
