Description
The Director of Sales & Marketing is a key member of the executive leadership team, responsible for developing and executing the company’s sales strategy to drive revenue growth, expand market share, and enhance customer relationships. This individual will lead all aspects of sales operations, including managing the sales team, overseeing key customer accounts, and aligning sales initiatives with company objectives. The ideal candidate will bring strong experience in manufacturing sales, preferably in firearm precision machining or aerospace/defense, and possess the ability to build and maintain strategic relationships with high-value clients.
Requirements
- Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy aligned with Microbest’s strategic goals.
- Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing sales team, setting clear goals, KPIs, and expectations.
- Manage and grow relationships with key accounts; serve as a primary point of contact for major customers.
- Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, and Finance teams to align customer expectations with production capabilities and pricing strategies.
- Identify new business opportunities in existing and emerging markets; lead efforts to secure new customers and penetrate new sectors.
- Conduct market research and analyze industry trends, customer needs, and competitor activity.
- Develop accurate sales forecasts and pipelines; report regularly on sales performance to the CEO and executive leadership.
- Drive continuous improvement in sales processes, tools, and customer relationship management.
- Oversee pricing models and contract negotiations to ensure profitability and compliance.
- Represent Microbest at industry events, trade shows, and customer meetings to promote brand and services.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive sales experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within manufacturing.
- Proven track record of driving sales growth and leading successful teams.
- Strong understanding of precision machining and contract manufacturing in regulated industries preferably in precision machining of firearms or aerospace/defense.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to execute tactically.
- Must be energetic and enthusiastic about selling and growing business.
- Experience within or passion for the firearms industry would be a significant plus
Working Conditions:
- Office environment with frequent visits to the shop floor and customer sites.
- Occasional travel is required for customer visits, trade shows, and industry events.
