Our client, a leader in the hand-crafted Baked Goods Industry, is seeking a Director of Sales to manage existing Convenience Store accounts and expand their customer base. This position is remote within the United States.
The Director of Sales - Convenience must combine excellent communication skills and high energy with a strategic mindset. Ultimately, the Director will be part of a high-performance sales team, collaborating to ensure sales meet or exceed company objectives and contribute to overall success.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage the overall product portfolio and achieve sales goals.
- Create new selling opportunities focused on current accounts and develop new accounts.
- Develop effective retail pull-through marketing programs to support key retailers.
- Provide direction and leadership to Broker Partners regarding objectives and profitability.
- Prepare accurate and timely weekly sales reports focused on profitable growth.
- Drive margin results that exceed plans.
- Identify and communicate service-level challenges and develop action plans.
- Schedule products to support sales and production.
- Interpret market data and trends.
- Provide pricing guides for RFPs.
- Collaborate with the sales team to set annual sales objectives supporting margin growth.
- Measure and analyze KPIs such as VCM and ROI.
- Develop sales budgets with an understanding of costing models.
- Analyze regional market trends to discover growth opportunities.
- Work with cross-functional teams including Customer Service, R&D, Finance, and Marketing.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field.
- Minimum 5 years experience in consumer-packaged goods sales.
- Experience calling on key convenience stores and distributors.
- Experience managing food brokers.
- Strong organizational skills and problem-solving attitude.
- Excellent negotiation, presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Leadership qualities including motivation, inspiration, good judgment, and trustworthiness.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).
- Willingness to travel approximately 40%.
- Position is remote; candidate can reside anywhere within the U.S.
Compensation:
$150,000 - $160,000 base salary plus 20% bonus potential.
