About Fiat

At Fiat Wealth Management, we help families turn a lifetime of saving into a retirement they can enjoy with confidence. We're looking for an experienced sales leader who shares that conviction and wants to build a high-performing advisor team.

Fiat is an SEC-registered investment advisor (RIA) based in Wayzata, with a second office in St. Cloud, serving 500+ families across 35+ states. Our name reflects what drives every client relationship: trust. We earn it by pulling back the curtain on how wealth management works and giving clients clarity at every stage of life.

Why Fiat:
  • A full team behind you. In-house Client Service, Paraplanning, Insurance, and investment teams, plus Fiat Tax, so you can focus on leading advisors and growing the business.
  • A proven process to build on. Fiat's planning, sales, and servicing process gives you a clear foundation to learn, refine, and scale across the team.
  • A seat at the table. Report directly to the CEO and help shape firm strategy, the client journey, and the development of Fiat's advisors.
  • Rewards that match your results. Incentive-based pay tied to clear performance metrics, a profit-sharing 401(k), and a results-based time-off policy.

Position Overview

The Director of Sales is a senior leadership role responsible for guiding, developing, and growing Fiat's advisor sales team. This role is fundamentally people- and performance-driven, requiring the ability to learn Fiat's planning, sales, and servicing process, build trust and rapport with the advisor team, and translate that trust into measurable improvements in advisor performance, client retention, and client satisfaction.

The Director acts as the internal leader and mentor for Fiat's sales advisors, and as a key partner to the servicing advisor team in shaping the client journey from first meeting through ongoing service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Onboarding & Process Mastery (First 90 Days): Learn Fiat's planning, sales, and servicing process end-to-end by shadowing advisors in client and prospect meetings and attending workshops and educational events. Build rapport with the sales team in preparation to step in as team leader, and remain engaged, coachable, and proactive throughout the learning process.
  • Performance Framework: Build out a framework for improving advisor KPIs and performance.
  • Sales Team Leadership: Serve as the lead of the sales team, owning growth, development, performance, and sales outcomes.
  • Coaching & Mentorship: Guide, mentor, and help sales advisors meet and exceed established objectives.
  • Performance Reporting: Monitor and report on advisor KPIs and overall sales team performance.
  • Client Retention & Service Strategy: Mold and fine-tune the post-sales client service offering in partnership with the servicing advisor team. Drive initiatives that increase client retention and satisfaction, and maintain accountability to firmwide client retention and marketing-efficiency targets.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with servicing advisors on the end-to-end client experience, and coordinate with firm leadership on advisor development plans and performance reviews.
Performance Expectations

The Director of Sales is accountable for advisor performance, client retention, and the health of the post-sales client experience. Performance may be reviewed on:

  • Advisor performance gains and KPI improvement
  • Sales team growth and sales outcomes
  • Client satisfaction and the overall health of the post-sales client experience
  • Firmwide marketing-efficiency targets
  • Development and results of advisors on the sales team
Qualifications
  • Proven sales leadership experience, ideally within financial services, wealth management, or a related advisory field.
  • Track record of coaching and developing a team toward measurable performance goals.
  • Strong understanding of client retention strategy and the client lifecycle.
  • Comfortable operating with accountability to clear, incentive-based performance metrics.
  • Collaborative style, able to partner closely with servicing advisors on the end-to-end client experience.
  • Coachable, proactive, and eager to deeply learn a firm's process before leading it.
Ideal Candidate

The ideal Director of Sales is a proven sales leader who is both a coach and a performance driver. They build trust with advisors quickly, take ownership of team results, and turn that trust into measurable improvement.

They are eager to learn Fiat's process deeply before leading it, partner naturally with the servicing team, and welcome being held to clear, incentive-based performance metrics.

  • Compensation includes a base salary plus incentive opportunities tied to advisor performance, client retention, and sales team outcomes.
  • 401(k) with company profit sharing
  • Health reimbursement benefits, subject to eligibility
  • Company-provided technology and workstation
  • Results-based time-off policy
  • Professional development, coaching, and continuing education
What Success Looks Like

Learn Fiat's process inside and out. Earn the trust of the advisor team. Raise advisor performance. Strengthen client retention and satisfaction. Shape a post-sales experience clients value. Represent Fiat's brand and values exceptionally well.

The role carries three responsibilities: develop and lead a high-performing sales team, improve client retention and satisfaction, and help shape the client journey from first meeting through ongoing service.

Position may be subject to pre-employment screening, which may include background check and drug testing.
