Job description

Fiat Wealth Management | Fargo, ND | Full-Time, Hybrid/Remote

Experience level: Entry level to 5 years

About Fiat

At Fiat Wealth Management, we help families turn a lifetime of saving into a retirement they can enjoy with confidence. We're looking for people who want to build a career doing that work.

Fiat is an SEC-registered investment advisor (RIA) based in Wayzata, with a second office in St. Cloud, serving 500+ families across 35+ states. Our name reflects what drives every client relationship: trust. We earn it by pulling back the curtain on how wealth management works and giving clients clarity at every stage of life.

Why Fiat:

  • A full team behind you. In-house Client Service, Paraplanning, Insurance, and investment teams, plus Fiat Tax, so you can spend your time with clients instead of on paperwork.
  • Opportunities brought to you. No cold calling. Fiat generates every lead, so your energy goes into meeting families and earning their trust.
  • A real path forward. Hands‑on coaching from senior advisors, licensing support, and a clear track from Associate to Lead Private Wealth Manager.
  • Rewards that match your results. Production-based pay with no ceiling, a profit-sharing 401(k), and a results-based time‑off policy.

If you want meaningful work, real mentorship, and a firm that invests in your growth, we'd love to meet you.

Position Overview

The Associate Private Wealth Manager builds the skills and client base to become a full Private Wealth Manager. You will start by supporting established advisors and Fiat-generated opportunities, then take on a growing book of your own relationships.

This role combines financial planning, client service, prospect meetings, and business development. You will work closely with a Lead Private Wealth Manager and Fiat's Client Service, Paraplanning, Tax, Insurance, investment, and leadership teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Client Relationships & Planning: Serve as primary contact for an assigned and growing group of client households. Partner with senior advisors on comprehensive annual reviews, and provide guidance on investments, retirement income, cash flow, tax planning, insurance, estate planning, beneficiaries, and legacy goals.
  • Business Development: Work Fiat-generated leads and referrals while building your own network and prospecting habits. Grow new assets and revenue steadily toward the goals in your development plan.
  • Prospect Conversion: Learn and apply Fiat's discovery, planning, and sales process. Lead prospect meetings as you are ready, communicate recommendations clearly, and follow up consistently through the decision.
  • Marketing & Education: Help run Fiat-sponsored workshops, webinars, referral events, and other initiatives. Present Fiat-approved educational workshops once approved by leadership.
  • Client Service: Deliver timely, accurate, and proactive service. Respond to client communications within one business day and see every request through to completion within service standards.
  • Documentation & Execution: Prepare thoroughly for meetings, keep CRM records complete, track follow-up tasks, and send timely meeting recaps with clear owners and next steps.
  • Collaboration & Learning: Work closely with Client Service, Paraplanning, Tax, Insurance, PPC, investment, and leadership teams. Take part in coaching, training, and joint client meetings with senior advisors while upholding all compliance and confidentiality standards.
Performance Expectations

Associates are measured on growth, service quality, and development. Goals scale with tenure and may include:

  • Assets gathered and new clients acquired
  • Prospect meetings held and conversion rate
  • Workshop set and conversion rates
  • Client retention and service standards
  • Referral activity and CRM documentation
  • Progress on licensing, designations, and training milestones
Qualifications
  • 0–5 years of experience in financial services, wealth management, financial planning, insurance, sales, or another client‑facing role. Recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
  • Series 65 license, or ability to obtain it within Fiat's required timeframe.
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, business, or a related field preferred.
  • Interest in pursuing the CFP® designation or similar credential.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and relationship‑building skills.
  • Ability to explain financial concepts clearly and confidently.
  • Strong organization, follow-through, attention to detail, and personal accountability.
  • High degree of professionalism, integrity, discretion, and confidentiality.
  • Coachable and growth‑oriented, with a willingness to take feedback and keep learning.
Ideal Candidate

They are comfortable meeting new people, asking for introductions, and growing into group presentations. They welcome coaching and measurable goals as the path to running their own client relationships.

Associates who meet their growth, service, and development goals advance toward Senior Advisor. Advancement brings full ownership of a client book and a larger share of revenue.

  • This position is salaried during a 6-month introductory and training period.
