Located in the most exciting state-of-the-art development in DTLA, this luxurious 28-story hotel has over 300 rooms, a spa, 16,000 square foot rooftop with a pool deck, 12,000 square feet of event space, and 4 food and beverage outlets.

In this role as the Director of Safety & Security, you will direct and oversee the implementation of all safety and security programs to provide protection and a sense of well-being to all guests and team members.

The ideal candidate will have three (3) years of management experience in security; hotel and luxury experience is preferred. A minimum of five (5) years in security-related roles is required. A high school diploma or equivalent, working knowledge of Windows-based programs, and proficiency in Microsoft applications are essential. Ability to maintain a valid security guard license and first aid training is required. The role requires the ability to work a full shift (8 hours) walking and standing, with or without reasonable accommodations, and a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.

What will I be doing?

  • Direct and administer all Safety and Security operations and functions, including preserving safety and security, promoting safe work practices, OSHA compliance, safety programs, systems management, lost and found, budgeting, and department management.
  • Patrol the interior and perimeter of the hotel and property to identify safety and security risks.
  • Lead investigations of accidents, thefts, property loss, and unlawful activities.
  • Respond to emergency situations such as safety hazards, fires, medical emergencies, and threats to life or property.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with law enforcement agencies.
  • Oversee the preparation and accuracy of reports and documentation.
  • Respond to guest inquiries and resolve issues promptly and courteously.
  • Monitor and develop team member performance, including supervision, training, counseling, and recognition.
  • Recruit, interview, and train security personnel.
  • Coordinate training in fire safety, CPR, and other corporate programs.
  • Manage departmental schedules, payroll, and financial forecasts.
  • Conduct security department meetings and participate in hotel operations as required.

Supportive Functions

This role may require participating in the Manager on Duty program, liaising with law enforcement, coordinating guest and employee security escorts, reviewing departmental guidelines, maintaining equipment and uniforms, and obtaining certification as a CPR Instructor.
