Job summary

Honor is seeking a Director of Safety to build and scale safety strategy for its distributed in-home care workforce. You will own reducing injury rates, minimizing workers' compensation spend, and driving a safe environment for clients and Care Professionals.

You will analyze data, design systemic solutions built on technology, and partner with Product and Engineering to create tools that scale safety as the company grows. This remote role can be based anywhere in the U.S.

About the Role

We're hiring a Director of Safety to build and scale safety strategy for our distributed in-home care workforce. In this role, you will own reducing injury rates and severity, reducing workers' compensation spend, and driving a safe environment for clients and Care Professionals (CPs). You'll mine large, ambiguous, and imperfect datasets to surface the risk indicators that actually predict incidents and injuries, then design systemic solutions—built on technology, not just process—that hold up as we grow into new markets and service lines. You'll own the full workers' compensation lifecycle, building durable programs that manage costs more effectively. You will also partner with Product and Engineering to build tools and automation that make safety a scalable advantage rather than a manual, reactive function. The right candidate has built and scaled safety, trust & safety, or risk programs inside a technology-enabled, high-growth, distributed workforce, using data and product thinking to solve problems at scale. You're equally comfortable diving into the details of a single incident investigation and stepping back to design company-wide systems. You think outside the box rather than defaulting to "industry best practice"—you can identify the handful of activities that actually move injury and cost outcomes, build the case for whichever investment they require, and influence outcomes across distributed teams who don't report to you. You can also translate messy, imperfect data into a clear, credible story for leadership. This role is fully remote and can be based anywhere in the U.S. You'll manage your team remotely, so strong written communication and remote coaching skills are essential.
