Suncoast Behavioral Health Center offers a unique treatment programs across inpatient, partial and intensive outpatient settings for children and adolescents.

In a highly specialized field of psychiatry, our goal is to promote cognitive, social, physical and emotional development to provide individuals with the knowledge and skills to help our patients succeed.

The Director of Risk Management (Performance Improvement) has broad responsibility to ensure the hospital's compliance at all times with all Joint Commission, AHCA and other regulatory agencies standards and requirements. The Director of Risk Management is responsible for staff training and education on the hospital's performance initiatives and measures including outcomes measurement and reporting. This individual is responsible for coordinating the loss control efforts and advising management and administration on all potential sources of loss and for making recommendations to minimize or eliminate exposure.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or other mental health related program.
  • Five (5) years of experience in quality and risk management/improving organizational performance within an acute medical or psychiatric treatment setting. Three (3) years' management experience preferred.
  • Preferred current Registered Nurse License by Board of Nurse Examiners for the State of Florida or a licensed mental health professional.
  • Knowledge of hospital operations, risk identification, assessment and reduction and claims management. Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
