Job summary

UPMC East and UPMC McKeesport seek a dynamic Director of Respiratory Services to lead respiratory care operations across two hospital campuses. The role oversees therapists, supervisors, managers and support staff, partnering with Nursing leadership and physicians to strengthen patient care and staff development.

Qualifications

• Leadership experience overseeing large respiratory care teams.
• Strong regulatory readiness and accreditation involvement.
• Proven ability to develop teams and support student engagement initiatives.
• Experience in budgeting, capital planning, and productivity reporting.

Responsibilities

• Lead development, design, implementation and administration of Respiratory Services.
• Develop strategic plans with short and long-term projects for the department.
• Coordinate and coach project teams, document plans and execution.
• Represent the department on hospital and system committees and task forces.
• Direct human resources functions including hiring, evaluations, development and corrective action.
• Establish communication standards and conduct regular department meetings.
• Ensure patient/family satisfaction and implement improvement measures.
• Develop and monitor budgets and productivity reports.
• Oversee respiratory student experiences.
