Job description

Position: Director of Residential Services

The Director of Residential Services oversees all components of program administration related to residential services. This role provides direction and supervision to three Developmental Services Managers (Lakeside Area Director, Summit Area Director, Cedar/Willow Area Director), three Sr. Health Care Supervisors, and an Active Treatment Coordinator. Responsibilities include overseeing all aspects of residential life, including the development, administration, and maintenance of residents' individual program plans (annual Person Centered Plans), and active treatment in compliance with Federal ICF Standards, State and Federal statutes, and facility policies and procedures.

The position involves managing employment, training, performance, and retention of quality direct support staff. Oversight of Person-Centered Plans should align with best practices, utilizing multidisciplinary approaches and implementing appropriate teaching objectives to support residents in acquiring and maintaining skills for independence. Collaboration with the Director of Professional Services, who oversees professional disciplines, is essential.

This role primarily involves developing center policies, disseminating information, interpreting standards, and managing performance through supervision and training. The position reports directly to the Human Services Director II (Assistant Facility Director) and works closely with them on planning, staffing, problem-solving, and service evaluation.

This position is designated Mandatory and must report or stay over during adverse weather events.

Salary Grade NC20; Recruitment Range $67,852.00 - $118,741.00

Qualifications and Requirements
  • Knowledge of programming, person-centered plans, treatment, and behavioral support plans for individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities in residential settings.
  • Experience supervising staff in residential care.
Preferred Skills
  • Skills in quality assurance data analysis.
  • Experience in providing person-centered supports.
  • Knowledge of ICF-IID standards.
  • Staff management experience, including performance evaluation and goal setting.
  • Understanding resource management for developmental disabilities services.
  • Experience working in an ICF/IDD facility.
  • Supervisory experience with professional and non-professional staff.
Educational and Experience Requirements

Master’s degree in human services and three years of relevant experience, including one in residential programming, OR a Bachelor’s degree with four years of relevant experience, including one in residential settings. An equivalent combination of education and experience may suffice. Degrees must be from accredited institutions.
