Job summary

TerraBella Senior Living in Cary is seeking a Director of Celebrations to lead resident services and coordinate engaging programs that promote health, wellbeing, engagement and growth across the community.

You will plan lifestyle programs, holidays, manage budgets, supervise staff and volunteers, develop newsletters, and build partnerships with outside organizations to enhance resident life.

Qualifications

• Associate degree required in recreation/therapies or related field.
• Experience in senior living or community programming is preferred.
• supervisory/management experience is expected.

Responsibilities

• Plans, schedules and conducts lifestyle programs for physical, intellectual, social, emotional and spiritual opportunities.
• Plans programs for holidays and special events.
• Recruits and develops resources; coordinates communications with outside organizations and volunteers.
• Advises residents on activities based on interests and growth opportunities.
• Prepares and organizes the calendar; submits for approval and posts.
• Develops and prints the community newsletter.
• Provides leadership of lifestyle program and coordinates the community library.
• Manages budgets, equipment, and supplies; drafts the Celebrations operating budget.
• Organizes and supervises a volunteer staff; addresses groups on topics of interest.
• Maintains resident surveys and QA reports; participates in staff training and in-services.
• Supervises Recreation and Event Coordinators across levels of service.
• Ensures compliance with regulations; develops programs meeting resident interests.
• Develops and facilitates activities and displays in common areas.
• Maintains public relations and volunteer recognition programs.

Education

Associate degree in Recreation, Therapeutic Recreation, Education, Gerontology, Social Work, Adult Education
