Greater Nashville Regional Council seeks an experienced leader for the Department of Research and Analytics in Nashville. The role oversees GIS mapping, economic and socioeconomic analyses, and forecasting to support public policy and infrastructure planning.

Responsibilities include managing staff, data systems, and consultant oversight, plus presenting findings to officials and partners. A master’s degree is preferred with at least three years of managerial experience; remote work is not

Qualifications

• Must have expert understanding of data sources and research methods.
• Master’s degree preferred; alternative: Bachelor’s + 5 years of managerial experience.
• Foreign degrees will be considered.
• Experience with GIS, statistics, SQL, and data visualization required.

Responsabilités

• Oversee day-to-day management and professional development of departmental staff.
• Oversee data acquisition and management of databases, web apps, and software used by research team.
• Assist in procurement and oversight of consulting firms for planning and research.
• Coordinate with consultant firms, research institutions, and government agencies.
• Perform studies: analyze conditions, create visualizations, assess potential policies.
• Present reports to officials, boards, stakeholders, and the public.
• Build partnerships with community organizations, universities, business groups, and government.
• Lead special projects as directed by Executive Director or Chief of Staff.
