Minimum Requirements:

  1. Licensed as a Physical Therapist, or Occupational Therapist for the State of California.
  2. Must have a valid CPR certification.

Job Summary:

The Director of Rehabilitation directs and coordinates the policies, objectives, initiatives, and programs for the delivery of rehabilitation therapy programs to patients. Oversees the performance of the rehabilitation therapy staff, business planning, and budget development. Assures services are in compliance with professional and clinical competency standards, state and federal regulatory requirements. Performs a variety of complicated tasks. Leads and directs the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. The Director of Rehabilitation contributes to the accomplishment of practices and objectives that will provide a high-performance culture emphasizing empowerment, quality, productivity, standards, and goal attainment.

  7. Perform initial patient evaluations and assess response to treatment interventions.
  8. Understand and follow regulatory statutes and rules for rehabilitation services.
  9. Educate patients, families, and staff as appropriate.
  10. Familiarity with budgeting principles and procedures.
  11. Develop and manage the rehabilitation department, including workstation inspections and assessment.
  12. Provide in-service training related to rehabilitation services to staff and new employees.
  13. Maintain progress notes and treatment plans on patients' treatments or referrals.
  14. Supervise and mentor therapy programs.
  15. Communicate effectively and proactively with physicians.
  16. Develop and maintain positive relationships with physicians and customers.
  17. Provide relevant program knowledge, analytical leadership, and administrative guidance in the management of therapy programs.
  18. Apply professional judgment in solving difficult issues.
  19. Meet and exceed patient needs.
  20. Communicate respectfully, openly, honestly, and directly.
  21. Promote an environment that facilitates innovation and creative solutions.
  22. Manage the department in accordance with state law.
  23. Coordinate strategic planning for therapy services.
  24. Comply with and enforce established policies and procedures for rehabilitation services.
  25. Assist with recruitment for the rehabilitation department.
  26. Actively participate in all facility meetings.
  27. Coordinate discharge planning and equipment.
  28. Participate in family conferences as needed.
  29. Available for weekend coverage and scheduling as needed.
  30. Comply with company rules, policies, and procedures.
  31. Comply with safety rules, policies, and procedures.
  32. Assume other duties as assigned.
