Medix seeks an experienced healthcare RCM professional to step into a Director-level role in Irvine, CA. The position leads a 5-person remote billing team and drives key RCM metrics, including denials, A/R days, and net collections, with a focus on Medicare and Medicare Advantage billing.

The role emphasizes collaboration with operations and engineering to prevent denials, improve processes, and ensure CMS payer compliance, while reporting performance to leadership.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of healthcare RCM experience.
• Strong hands-on Medicare and Medicare Advantage billing experience.
• Solid A/R and collections experience.
• Experience with payer contracting and/or provider credentialing.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a 5-person remote billing team.
• Own collection goals and key RCM metrics including clean claims, denials, A/R days and net collections.
• Oversee Medicare and Medicare Advantage billing from charge capture through payment, denials and appeals.
• Manage payer contracting and provider credentialing.
• Lead rejection and denial triage and identify root causes.
• Partner with Operations and Engineering to prevent denials and automate manual billing processes.
• Ensure billing remains compliant with CMS and payer requirements.
• Report revenue performance and RCM results to leadership.

Monday-Friday | 9 AM-9 PM (Yes, this is a 12 hour work day)

Looking for a strong healthcare RCM professional who is ready to take the next step into leadership.

This is a unique opportunity for someone with deep hands-on billing and A/R experience to step into a Director-level role. Leadership experience is a bonus, but it is NOT required. If you're currently a Lead, Supervisor, or Manager - or an experienced RCM professional ready to take that next step - this could be a great opportunity.

What You'll Own

• Lead and develop a 5-person remote billing team
• Own collection goals and key RCM metrics including clean claims, denials, A/R days and net collections
• Oversee Medicare and Medicare Advantage billing from charge capture through payment, denials and appeals
• Manage payer contracting and provider credentialing
• Lead rejection and denial triage and identify root causes
• Partner with Operations and Engineering to prevent denials and automate manual billing processes
• Ensure billing remains compliant with CMS and payer requirements
• Report revenue performance and RCM results to leadership
• 2+ years of healthcare RCM experience

• Proven ability to improve collections and reduce denials
• Strong analytical skills and comfort working with data and reporting
• A hands-on, roll-up-your-sleeves mentality
• Comfortable partnering with technical/engineering teams to improve RCM processes

Leadership Experience Is a Plus - Not a Requirement

This role is intentionally open to candidates who haven't held a Director title yet.

Experience with care management or time-based codes such as PIN, CHI, CCM or PCM is a plus, as is experience in care navigation, value-based care, digital health or startup environments.
