Job summary

Texas Rehabilitation Hospital of Denton seeks a Director of Quality Management to lead the hospital-wide Continuous Quality and Performance Improvement program. You will partner with the CEO, leadership, and Medical Staff to set priorities, measure performance, and sustain improvements across disciplines in a brand-new 40-bed facility opening in spring 2027.

The role requires RN licensure, BSN/BS/BA, and 2+ years in acute or rehab settings, with supervisory experience and strong communication,

Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse with current licensure highly preferred.
  • Clinical licensure required.
  • Certification preferred by APIC and NAHQ.
  • BSN or BS/BA required.
  • Two years in an acute hospital or rehabilitation setting required.
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred.
  • Current BLS/CPR certification.
  • Strong ability to plan, coordinate, and evaluate PI activities.

Responsibilities

  • Provides leadership and oversight of a comprehensive, efficient and integrated organization-wide Continuous Quality Performance Improvement program.
  • Measures and assesses performance through collection, analyses, and trending of data.
  • Focuses on processes and systems to improve performance.
  • Directs, facilitates, and reports on risk management and patient safety.
  • Investigates factors contributing to adverse outcomes to improve processes.
  • Encourages reporting on risk reduction in a blame-free environment.
  • Directs education of Continuous Quality and Performance Improvement and hospital-wide training.
  • Directs hospital-wide quality-improvement programs and reports findings to leadership and committees.

How you'll contribute

The DQM assumes responsibility and accountability for the hospital-wide Continuous Quality and Performance Improvement program. The DQM willassistthe CEO/leadership and Medical Staff toestablishpriorities for Performance Improvement. He/she ensures that disciplines in the hospital work collaboratively to plan and implement Performance Improvement activities. The DQM will focus on measuring,analyzingand trending information in order to improve outcomes. He/she willassureongoing monitoring of performance to ensure that improvements are sustained.The DQM will direct compliance following federal and state regulations and accreditation standards andassistwith compliance investigations as requested by the corporate compliance department.

  • Investigatesfactors contributing to adverse outcomes in order to improve processes and systems.
  • Encouragesreporting onrisk reduction strategies in an atmosphere which minimizes blame or retaliation. Fostersenvironmentto reduce unanticipated adverse events and/or outcomes.
  • Responsible for education of Continuous Quality and Performance Improvement andadditionalhospital-wide education and training.
  • Directs the functions and operation of the hospital-wide continuous quality improvement program including review of records for indicators of quality; reports findings to leadership, Medical Executive Committee, the Board ofManagersand other committees asappropriate.

What we're looking for

Applicants should possess the following qualifications and skills:

  • Registered Nurse with currentstatelicensurehighly preferred.
  • Clinical licenserequired.
  • Certification preferred by APIC (AmericanPractitioners of Infection Control), and NAHCQ (National Association of Health Care Quality).
  • BSN or BS/BArequired. Two years of experience inanacute hospital or rehabilitation settingrequired.Previoussupervisory experience preferred.
  • Current Basic Life Support/CPR Card.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, coordinate, and evaluate PIactivities, effective oral and written communicationskillsandproficiencyin basic computer skillsrequired.
  • Working knowledge of staff development and the educational process, quality improvement, infection control/employeehealth, and safety/risk management standards.
