Responsibilities

Acting on behalf of the Vice President of Quality Assurance/Quality Control, this position is directly responsible for documenting, managing, implementing, monitoring, measuring, improving, and institutionalizing the Quality Management System (QMS) at the MMC. The position reports directly to the Vice President of Quality Assurance/Quality Control or a designated representative within the QA/QC service center.

  • Design, develop, implement, and improve the Quality Management System (QMS) in the M.C. Dean modular assembly/manufacturing facility.
  • Partner with the project team in understanding the complete scope of work for the project(s).
  • Establish and embed Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) tools and techniques into the manufacturing processes.
  • Manage a team of quality engineers and quality control personnel to drive quality in upstream processes of design, planning and throughout the production processes.
  • Identify and provide solutions to project-specific issues based on knowledge, experience and outside resources.
  • Perform Quality Assurance audits on the modular processes to assess quality maturity.
  • Establish and lead quality initiatives for the project(s).
  • Participate in the review of engineering deliverables (drawings, specifications, submittals) and ensure all comments generated during these reviews are addressed.
  • Initiate, assign, and manage discrepancy notices, corrective action reports, and corrective & preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Provide oversight and coordinate 3rd‑party peer design and 3rd‑party testing agencies, implementing recommendations as necessary.
  • Participate in the daily Operational Risk Management (ORM) meetings ensuring Quality items/issues for the scope of the work are discussed.
  • Assess project performance under the quality management system and provide management, guidance, assistance, and support to the project team as required.
  • Ensure adequate and tailored policies, procedures, and work instructions are documented and institutionalized.
  • Manage third‑party audits related to ISO 9001, CMMI, ISO 27001 and UL.
Qualifications

Clearance Requirement: Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements, including U.S. Citizenship, for access to classified information; active Top-Secret/SCI clearance required.

  • The candidate must be a graduate engineer preferably in systems, industrial, manufacturing disciplines.
  • The candidate must have a minimum of 16+ years manufacturing experience preferably in automotive, heavy equipment, aerospace, modular construction industries with a Bachelor’s degree.
  • The candidate must have the necessary QA/QC experience either serving directly as a QA/QC manager or in the capacity of project manager or engineering manager, manufacturing/process engineering.
  • The candidate must have experience in leading, auditing and providing oversight for the integration of Quality Management System across various disciplines (including architectural, mechanical, and fire alarm systems, etc.) and interested parties (suppliers, subcontractors, testing agencies, etc.).
  • Extensive knowledge of ISO 9001:2015, Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Lean, Six Sigma and various manufacturing processes.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent problem‑solving, analyzing, and resolving skills.
  • Ability to communicate at all levels of construction.
  • Keen attention to detail.
  • Experience working in a team‑oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Ability to read, interpret and review drawings and engineering documents.
