Job summary

Univar Solutions is seeking a Director of Quality to lead the Quality discipline across USA and Canada, driving regulatory compliance, customer experience, and continuous improvement. The role collaborates with Commercial, Field Operations, Transportation, and Planning to support strategic quality initiatives and growth.

The position requires a 4-year degree in physical science or chemical engineering, 10+ years in quality/regulatory roles, leadership of regional teams, and ability to travel up

Qualifications

  • 4-year degree in physical science, Chemical Engineering, or related subject, and/or equivalent work experience
  • 10+ years’ practical experience with Quality and regulatory compliance, preferably within the chemical, pharmaceutical or related industry
  • Demonstrated ability to lead program compliance and continuous development
  • Experience in managing direct reports including USA Regional Quality Manager and Center of Excellence personnel
  • Maintain knowledge of all applicable corporate, federal, state and local regulatory and quality requirements. Stay abreast of developing regulatory requirements, particularly at the federal, state, and local level.

Responsibilities

  • Implement the Quality Management System to ensure compliance with regulations, procedures, and quality assurance standards.
  • Facilitate external regulatory body audits.
  • Responsible for Quality policy and performance metrics.
  • Lead monthly global Quality meetings.
  • Provide leadership to Regional Quality Managers and internal professional staff in EHSQ and external functions. Collaborate with all affected areas of the organization to ensure continued compliance with regulations.
  • Accountable for customer complaint system including investigation, root cause and corrective and preventive actions.
  • Support management of change process.
  • Point person for Quality needs of key corporate accounts.
  • Drive continuous improvement in key Quality areas including on-time delivery, product and container quality, and customer responsiveness.
  • Support the investigation of mis-delivery incidents.
  • Ensure that laboratory testing procedures are fit for purpose.
  • Accountable for facility compliance with drug enforcement administration (DEA) licenses.
  • This role requires the ability to travel 25% of the time to conduct field evaluations/training.

Education

WHERE YOU'LL WORK:

This is a hybrid position that can be based out of our offices in The Woodlands, TX, Chicago, IL, Atlanta, GA, or Morrisville, GA

PAY & BENEFITS:
  • The salary range for this position is $150,430 - $180,000 annually.
  • The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s relevant experience, education, training, certifications, qualifications, and work location
